JUST ANOTHER DAY – 2020

The UK went into lockdown for the first time on Monday 23rd March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

I began my own self isolation in the previous week, on the 18th March.

Just another day is the story of my lock down told through 104 daily 20 minute paintings, which I undertook to produce from Wednesday 18th March 2020 to Monday June 29th, as a means of monitoring and maintaining my mental health, as someone with post traumatic stress disorder and depression.

In an average week pre lock down I would see and speak to people on a daily basis both at work and socially, albeit through a communication aid. Once lockdown arrived all conversation in person stopped, as I live alone, can’t use a telephone and my portable communication aid became useless due to the two metre social distancing rule.
